A motorcyclist has been hit by a train travelling from Anuradhapura to Kankesanthurai at the Ariviyanagar railway crossing in Kilinochchi.
The motorcyclist, who was seriously injured in the accident that occurred yesterday (25) morning, has died on admission to the Kilinochchi hospital.
The deceased is a 28-year-old resident of Ponnagar North, Kilinochchi.
The Kilinochchi Police are conducting further investigations.
