Hospital sources say that 12 people have been admitted to the Marawila Base Hospital after a lorry collided with a motorcycle and crashed into a tree near the Marawila Hospital on the Chilaw-Colombo main road.
The accident occurred at around 7.30 am today (13) and it is said that young children are among the injured.
A group of people who had gone to Colombo from Anamaduwa Thonigala to observe Vesak have met with this accident and the Marawila Police are conducting further investigations.
