A bowser transporting 33,600 liters of diesel and petrol from Kolonnawa to Welimada overturned on the road yesterday (14) evening.
Due to this accident, traffic on the Talawakele - Nuwara Eliya road was completely blocked in the Kirimetiya area.
However, due to the fuel leak caused by the overturning of the tank section of the bowser, residents of the surrounding area were seen waiting in queues to buy diesel and petrol.
However, the leaking fuel has been transferred to another bowser.
Nanuoya Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
